Our client, a premier Exploration and Production Company, have a new job opening for a Category Management & Strategic Sourcing Advisor, for a contract position working a their headquarters in Aberdeen. The role and responsibilities include but not limited to:

To develop strategies to minimise the total cost of ownership the company receives from third-parties, coordinate the implementation of category strategies and manage supplier performance.
Identify strategies to support the business needs in an ever-changing market.
Lead cross-functional teams on project-based initiatives to develop and implement key elements of category strategies.
Manage the competitive bidding process for multiple lines of services both locally and globally as part of strategic sourcing events, including supplier communications.
Develop negotiation strategies by identifying and quantifying gives, takes and best alternatives.
Work with key stakeholders and suppliers to create accurate material forecasts, placing orders to ensure adequate inventory and safety stock levels avoiding any operational down time.
International travel maybe required.

Ideally your background within supply chain and category management will come from across diverse industries/markets, Experience of oil and gas operations in category management/contracts environment, with knowledge of subsea, projects, operations, engineering and logistics categories is beneficial.
You will have strong experience in executing contract/commercial negotiations as well as working knowledge of evaluation modelling experience, including cost/benefit analysis.
Experience with Excel, SAP - Ariba or other ERP systems is preferred.

Initially this contract will be for a minimum of 12-months. Temporary Agency Worker status. Competitive compensation and benefits.
